Their nest box is in their run but they have a covered run and they sleep in their coop on roost i out down a lot of fresh hay in their run i’m hoping it helps.Sleep where in their coop? Or are the nest boxes not in the coop?
Also where are the nest boxes located in relation to pop door, assuming they're in the coop? It kinda helps them "wipe off their feet" if they have to walk a little across clean bedding to get to the boxes before laying.

Yep. Even with fresh straw they like to bury them. About twice a week we get one so dirty I chuck it into the woods.You haven't seen dirty eggs until you get a beautiful duck egg, out of their latest mud hole...
