Hello BYC community,
I have a 22 week old rooster who has red spots on both his legs. Some spots are darker, more purple and look like it might hurt.
He is not injured and has had these spots for a month or two. They started getting darker a week ago. They started out as small pinkish red spots. I have read other threads saying this is perfectly normal, but there pictures are not the same as mine.
When I read about the avian influenza, the article said that birds may experience dark red colored spots on their legs but those pictures don’t match up as well.
I have smelled some rotting meat in the forest lately, like past 3 days. Though the chickens have not got near as we have a fenced in yard and they are in a tractor all day. I may just be an overprotective mother, but please tell me I am. I thank you in advance for your thoughts.
