Don't you want to build when there is still some frost? That way the ground is hard so the big machinery wont sink into the soil. Also, they dig until the ground is frost free, then dig a few more feet, and they know that they dug a good solid foundation with the 'roots' of the foundation below your frost line.

I LOVE your chick rainbow! Gotta say, I really want a gray/blue chickendon't have one. We picked out one EE from the PULLET bin last spring that was close to gray/blue..... grew into a really great color, totally different from any other chicken we had..... BUT it of course turned into a ROO!!
Sad, sad.....
