Never watched "Alaskan Bush People", just looked up who was not being honest in their so called 'reality' show and they popped up. I actually prefer 'Yukon men' , over 'Alaska the last frontier' watch out Alaskan, I might be your neighbor someday! Lol! The wife wants to move south when we retire, I say Alaska. She says why? its cold. I told her you move south I'll move to Alaska and hunt and fish and pan for gold and hibernate and read lots of good books, I'll visit you every few years Lol!

'Alaska the last Frontier" is filmed right here though.... and it is super funny


Some parts of Alaska are actually warm... the area by Sitka is actually a rain forest, just a temperate rainforest. Gorgeous place, of course melons probably cost $10 each, and the slugs are as big as you hand... but it doesn't snow much, and the snow melts fast.... it really is warm, winter temps hang around the 30 to 40s

Good morning all! We have been swimming in our yard trying to get the place ready for Easter company. It is pouring rain here-still for the 3rd day in a row. I had to wear my barn boots to work and then switch shoes there and my feet still got soaked

Today I am going to wrap garbage bags around my legs. Just nuts how much rain we have. I am tempted to buy ducks because my chickens are swimming in this flood.

Since the feed store had no SS, I got 5 black jersey giants and 3 silver laced wyandottes chicks yesterday. The hens are still being stingy with their eggs. I don't blame them. 50s during the day and 20s at night one day then 70s in the day and 40s at night the next. Plus the sun does not frequent our area....so, I still don't have any eggs to incubate because no one is laying!!

And to make matters worse, I am going to be forced to purchase store bought eggs for Easter. Not cool.

My new job is going great

. I am learning a lot and I get to work at other branches to pick up hours. Plus I get to work banker's hours!!!

it's snowing here... after +12 temperatures last week we are back to -5C for the last few days. And it's snowing, and sticking, some days this snow is quite heavy.

Poor chickens stayed locked in yesterday/ In turn I only got 3 eggs.
