Dixie Chicks

Okay, just got the chilis moved into bigger pots, and I built them wicking reservoirs. I didn't re-pot the tomatoes yet, I just moved them in under the light the chilis had in their peat pots. They're really not looking that good, I hope the added light will perk them up a bit. I think I'll repot them later today or tomorrow.

Here are the 'maters. The ones dying in the front are the ones I tried pinching. The tubular bulb should multiply the amount of light they're getting a lot, they were under a 13W single point bulb, this one has almost twice the wattage at 24W, plus the seedlings should get that light a lot more evenly like this.

The chilis look a lot better, but they were getting a bit crowded in the previous pots foliagewise. Now they should have some more room to grow. I still haven't managed to convince Karin that a shelf in the middle of that window wood look great, no really... you wouldn't even notice it at all. I swear. I think I'll try again tonight... I could use the growing space. That window is the only proper place for growing with natural light I've got.

This is how my water trays look:

So far this has been a great system for keeping them watered. It's much more even than what I did last year, which was to fill the bottom third of individual sealed pots with leca gravel and then soil on top. This way I can utilize the whole pot for soil, and they can soak up an even amount of moisture. Plus, you only need to add water once in a week or two.

LOOKING GOOD!

I can understand that part! Josh wasn't happy with the living room quarantine either but I made my side porch quarantine for young birds and chick's now. He's much happier with that situation.
MINE WASNT HAPPY ABOUT IT EITHER UNTIL HE GOT A GANDER AT THEIR CUTE LIL HELPLESS FUZZY BUTTS THEN HE DIDNT MIND SO MUCH...
(sorry cap lock) now he helps me capture them to tuck them away at night inside lol

but actually all the chicks are outside now in the tractor.. the turkeys are still inside I am babying them a bit more @Alaskan has me fussing over them more...and last night as we watched game of thrones @Sharps Big 50 held dumpling as he watched the show and had him snoozing in his lap as he pet him

looking good your peppers are doing amazing :)

Okay, I just looked at when I planted the tomatoes, apparently it hasn't even been two weeks. So actually they're doing a lot better than I thought. But clearly, they weren't getting enough light. Now that I moved them under the brighter light and watered them from below a bit instead of just misting them, they have perked up tremendously in just a few hours. They might not even need bigger pots just yet... When do you guys usually re-pot? When the second pair of true leaves comes, or at a certain time from planting, or what?

I should add that due to the rabbit circumstances on the porch, we named him PIG.

@hennible
,  paint job looks good.  I've got a lot of painting to do.  Come on down.  I'll get you a beer, or lemonade, or whatever! :P

Lol
What about air fair ;)
It's just primer, it's at my moms a surprise wall...

Just came back from a store run, and also went to the post office to finally pick up the replacement for my grow light that broke. On the way I took a look at how my rhubarb is doing, it seems to be thinking it's spring too.

The parsley root I planted last year was alive and well too, it will be interesting to see if they get some size this year.

When I got back home, I opened up the package with the grow light, and looks like the company packed in a few extras!
