Oh, and I almost froze my hands off out there... I spilled some water on my gloves filling the big guys waterer, and I can tell you, it gets pretty cold pretty fast. Brr. Had to soak my hands under hot water when I got in.

Couldn't find my gloves yesterday so I shoveled without them had to stick my hands in hot water... they were frozen

BC, cross country is fun when you do it in a place with spectacular views, or if you do it like you're competing in the Olympics.

Vaiva does the burp thing too. After she's eaten, she'll come to Karin or me and lick her (own) lips for a while, and after about a minute she'll let out a small burp. We see it as a thank you too.

Come visit me V we've got a world class or Olympic class ( I can't remember ) cross country skiing here, world class mountain biking if you're interested too

664km, or 8 hours 35 minutes, according to google maps.   That's driving though, as the bird flies it's a lot shorter.

Hope you all are doing good.  I am SO FAR behind!  I'll try to catch up later, no guarantees.   Been busy trying to fight the cold weather!  Luckily I am off work today, because little girl's school closed.  Yeah!  Icy roads, snow, snow, snow and low temps. :/   Poor DH has to work. 
Electric was out for a few this morning.   BRRRRRR!  Luckily we have the wood burning fireplace insert.  We use it for supplemental heat, but it burns up the firewood like toothpicks!

I am going to stay home, check on the chicken's in a few & give them water.  We need one of those heated waterers!   Still got 20 eggs yesterday, so I can't complain .  Today, little girl and I are putting Christmas in boxes.  Had to prop the fake tree up with an end table because the stand broke only a couple days before Christmas.  Going to pitch it and get new next year.  Be the 1st one we have bought in 12 years.  Maybe next year we will go to a tree farm and go the old fashioned way.

jem, we used Townline or Privett by way of Tractor Supply. It was our first time ordering and we were newbies to the whole chicken thing.

You guys, gloves always. use socks if necessary. frostbite is not good.

hennible, you need a basket to carry with you. The only time I don't break one is if I forget the basket.
