Here's the bird with the mites

She looks skinny, but its just the feathers she's pulled out and shed. Her face is a bit puffy too...

I have a probable broody. My BR Queenie. Always been an odd egg.
She hasn't left the nest box in 5 days and was stealing everyone's eggs - every time I went in to get eggs she was sitting in a different box, hoarding them. We have 10. LOL She is now in her
She has ripped out all her feathers underneath and she means business so I tucked some under her tonight and we'll see what happens next. Being in box #1 way up high we will have to remove her and put her in the broody bin eventually if it sticks this time.

Bama, I skipped too, my fine is forthcoming.

Sam, I now consider myself a bipolar chicken owner

all the support you gave me the other day brought me all the way back around. I'm working it out.

@alaskan @bamadude lately I have had such a big request for the rose combed legbars that I have been getting about $5/egg for hatching and last fall I sold a pair for $150 whiich is more than $20/chick, lol. Legbars come from a composite of leghorns, plymouth rocks, and araucanas years ago but after they got the blue egg gene from the araucana and the barring from the rock, they have used leghorns as an outcross. Otherwise they are much like a leghorn
