Dixie Chicks

I would if someone would go with me. Josh isn't interested in racing and that's where my horse roots started was in harness racing and thoroughbred racing.
My son lives in Louisville and I avoid the area on Derby weekend.....the crowds are crazy!

I was born with the love of all things horse. I tell my DH you are either a horse person or you're not, it is in your blood. I read every horse book I could get my hands on as a kid and couldn't wait to get my own. I blame credit Walter Farley with my love of horse racing, both kinds. I have some harness racing in my past...even drove in a couple of races at southern Illinois county fairs. I got my chickens when my two horses went to a home with two daughters in 4-H. Love my chickens but still miss burying my face in a mane........

wow, that would be big litters.

Considering for how much rabbits went at the last sale, id say keep breeding and selling. Don't eat them

They easily went for $50 plus each

remember @Alaskan marans typically hatch three days later then most chickens believe they are expected to hatch on like 23/24th day

true... more have hatched and are hatching and are clearly actually alive ...

I thin I am up to 6.... not the 14 I planned on by setting 22ish eggs... but whatever....

My heat lamp just busted.... I meant to buy a spare the other day in town... I didn't.

My stupidity knows no bounds.

Anyway, I gave them a heating pad... and I think that they will be fine until tonight.... with having Real Spring finally the house is warming up even though I have stopped all heating, so the room is pretty warm, I think 58 last I checked.

58, brr.

I have 5 marans alive. Hatched 7 of 8 fertile eggs. 2 dropped over before they made it out of the hatching tray. Idk why.

there isn't anything like hugging a horse and burying your face in their mane. Especially on a bad day.

Oh and my rosecomb brown leghorns, andalusions, and welsummers are coming next week and my black phoenix and fly ties the week after!
