Nice one Vehve, how did you do that?

I did quickly lift the lid this morning to increase the water/humidity in there. 4 eggs are externally pipped. Pip #1 has a little crack that wasn't there last night.

BC, for some reason I managed to take a jigsaw to my hand. Not the best of ideas. Luckily I had let go of the trigger by the time the saw broke free from the piece of wood I was sawing, so it only slowed down against my skin instead of sawing off my finger. Nice reminder of being cautious when working with power tools. And always wear gloves.

Oh yeah, Wilma got back to work today, laying her first egg in two months. Emma should probably start soon, although I'm not sure if Eemeli has been mounting her yet. He started with Wilma a week or two ago.

This is seriously the most tiny little duckling I've ever seen...

woo! Told you my calls are tiny!

Thanks! I keep updating here as all you are probably the only ones "wanting" to hear updates.

Also, I should have quail hatching in a week or so. The last 6 eggs from my quails that the fox got.

Plus there is a lovely online hatching egg auction group where I ended up winning an auction for 6 bobwhite, 6 button and 12 coturnix quail eggs.

Now only to get the Cayuga additions figured out and additions are done for this year.

I hope we won't be hatching for a while...because that would mean someone would be broody again.

Blah, the rest of the week will be a pain. Have to clean like crazy here, and then cook for Saturday. I have been put in charge of catering a bachelorette party. We'll see how it goes. Loads of work for a party I won't be attending.

So you've had really good luck with your broodies? I haven't with my one Orpington... the Chantecler is sitting solid, she only plays musical chairs (nests) on a rare occasion. So she'll be getting the ducks should they ever hatch!
