I was sent 50, 2or 3were broken so I set 47 or 48. Quite a few infertiles. Had 33 develop. 29 hatched. One of those last 4 was infertile.

I just saw a viedo on processing them... VERY interesting how much meat is on one.

were planning on raising most to eat. Figure we'll pick out which ones we like and keep those for breeders and eat the others. Then we'll hatch more from those to eat. Might sell a few, who knows.

Still waiting for the giants and langshans I ordered from SandHill. Told me May 5. I have down all May and June hatch dates for alternatives. I see why some people complain about them, waiting sucks.

Quail are SUPER cute! And I see that you got VARIETY! I have only done the regular brown ones...I like that fact that they are supposedly the biggest, and you can sex them by color (not at hatch but when the adult feathers come in)

You need a Greenhouse. Already selling greens here, loads of greens... Bamas mustard greens are growing faster than I can get rid of them...

@Peep_Show What laid that dark egg?

The one on the right? Pat the Olive Egger (F2/2nd generation). She's a non-descript black chicken who is 3/4 FBCM and 1/4 CCL. She doesn't lay every day (drats!), but she's real cuddly and so we forgive her occasional slackiness. Seriously, you go to gather eggs and she pops into the nests to say "Hi!"

The little dark(ish) brown egg is from Oops.

The egg on the left is from my superstar layer, TeJae, who hatched out of a Trader Joe's egg. 63 eggs in 65 days and all Large-plus.
