Dixie Chicks

While having coffee with the ladies today (a weekly thing) the conversation turned to eggs, specifically my eggs! A couple of the ladies have become egg snobs and definite repeat customers, citing that they love all the colors they come in. Then one gal (not a customer) said she would not eat green eggs.... So we all started citing "Green Eggs & Ham" lines at her. Hilarious!

Oh how funny is that.... You should bring a dozen of your best colors to the next weekly thing....

LOL! I have some customers that specify they do not want green or blue eggs.......??? People are nuts. Most of the time anymore I don't mess with selling the eggs. We still have over 140 chickens and we get at least 2 dozen eggs everyday. What we don't eat at home, I donate to a food pantry. They don't care what color the egg is.

@minihorse927 , I hadn't heard about all the fairs, swaps & such being affected. I am glad they are trying to put a handle on it before it gets out of hand. We are cautious about biosecurity here. We only wear our chicken boots back to our coop. I don't have any farmer friends visiting. And I always quarantine 30-60 days. But really, all it takes is a fly over with bird flu and my whole flock is gone. My daughter wanted to be in 4H this year. I told her maybe next year. Maybe she will show rabbits instead.
I hadn't given you a good update lately. On the chickens I bought from you, the 2 CCL hens got killed by Pepper (bird dog), one CCL rooster got attacked & he was already limping from a previous unknown injury. He is now fine & no longer limping

. The other 2 roosters are doing great. M

beautiful graffitti ducks. We cuurently destroyed a large batch of eggs in the burn pile. Just can not handle any more. Anacona.
I've got soooooo many ducklings. Just got 3 orders tho for the older ones. I'm down to hatching green and grey eggs only now since I'm so overrun in ducklings. Especially now that I can't take any to swaps to sell!

I am staying away from flock swaps currently. I am giving away 18 Calico Cochin Bantam and Babydoll Calico Cochin Bantam Chicks. I gave away 24 Eng Orps and 12 Easter Eggers to prevent the need to go.

If I would have took them to swaps, they wouldn't have come home with me for the obvious reasons. I wouldn't dare buy anything there either this year.
