Crowing doesn't bother me, we have some that crow in the middle of the night... 12am, 1am, 2am... and 1 of the OEGB roos crows in tandem with Jim's alarm clock in the morn... :D

I noticed when I coughed a lot late at night, OrpB would crow right after I coughed. I guess if I can hear him, he can hear me. I'm going to sleep....I've been listening with angst, and narry a sound has come from from the coop. Wonder if the train whistle that blows for two crossings nearby bothers the same person... that is much louder than any roo,

My coop was twenty five feet form my bedroom door... I had one roo that would do an ALLLSSSSWELLLL crow at about two am... and I would hear a responding crow from twenty acres away...

I loved it.

At night if you sit outside to look up at the stars... There is no liget at night at my house so you can truely see the milky way. But i have a clear visual to a good hundred or more acres... and can hear every conversation... Not in detail but I can tell if they are chatting and laughing or something more serious.

Cant see the horse at night... Black horses are that way... but I know she can see me... she comes up to the fence with big softly heavy foot steps... and goes on alert... Horses are that way ... they share guard duty over their herd... Sleeiping on their feet alternating diagonal legs... locking those and balancing the with the others... even in sleep their ears move a little picking up the inght sounds.
