Dixie Chicks

I think that those are as small as quail... wow

by the way...  @BriardChickens
... what did you decide to do with your lone bobwhite?  toss it in with the Coturnix? is it much bigger?

The coturnix are a bit older and bigger. I tried for a few seconds and one of the coturnix went after little Bob. Keeping it separate until they are more even in size

Also: I think the Cayuga Drake has figured out how to let the 4 week old Ancona ducklings out. I saw that the latch was turned the other day, then he would have removed the latch and maybe the ducklings pushed the door open. He's been hanging out right in front of their door so I wouldn't be surprised if he even pulled the door open

21 clears in the 30 bought Cayuga duck eggs. But am happy to report that the seller is wanting to replace my clears if I pay shipping. Now it's shipped eggs versus driven so I really hope her fertility is up.

Oh and non laying Swedish flowers ate suddenly laying daily. Wonder what's up with that?

They heard where the meaties were headed, lol...

My bantams haven't been laying for last 2 weeks since temps been in the 90's, ugh... and moved the lf so theirs is off too, and the ones that are laying the eggs are smaller... :/

Cayuga says that's his flock now, lol...

@Alaskan, you truly are a glutton for punishment.

Totally... The almost free eggs (since I did pay shipping) are showing up AFTER I leave town, and spouse will have to pick them up from the post office... I will have kid #2 put them in the incubator.

BC .. Totally awesome that is sounds like your drake wants to mother the ducklings... My muscovy drake is really nice too...

And bummer about Bob... That bites.

As to my chicks that will not eat... :ya it looks like most are now actually eating!! About bleeby time!!! The worst one though... Still wants to die... But as long as the rest decide to be healthy proper chicks.. I can live with that.

:lau   achem  :bow oh chaos come to me!!!!!!

but admit it, this will be FUN, I have never had a crested breed before!  I always wanted some spitz!

And I am SURE, in fact I RESOLVE to never again hatch chicks that refuse to eat. So, I am sure that these will be fine.

And DUDES!  for the cost of shipping?  I couldn't say no.

Taking of..... stupid chicks still aren't dead or eating....  not totally true.. a few have decided to eat like real chicks....  the one that is so starved its eyes are almost always closed is STILL alive... the kids asked why I don't just kill it... i dunno...  it might decide to eat... i dunno..

totally odd though

I just can't figure it out... you would think that no matter what is wrong with them... after being force fed twice, there should either be enough food in their system that they should start up and act like chicks... or something is really wrong with them and they should just die.
Where did these come from?
