Dixie Chicks

Hummmm.... Got a kid second opinion  I just can not see the spot that well myself.... Second kid thought maybe not chiggers (but again, this kid has no experience... My kids have never had them)

Anyway.... Used some anti itch spray stuff... Whatever.... ( i thought it was newskin stuff... But it was anti-itch stuff :idunno what can I say) i think it is helping a bunch.... So maybe it is just some biting critter that I am no longer used to.. And that it why it is still itching

No way to know... Too many itchy possibilities in Texas :lau

I would say take a pic and let's see if we could help you figure it out... but...

Have a feeling that seeing Alaskan's bare legs on BYC would be cause for an intervention...

Ever brag up a place you frequent weekly for absolute years and when you take another couple there the attitute and atmosphere was atrocious from the door greeter whom collects for the band to the co-owner?

We had that experience last night.

Down right rude, service was awful, food was great even though we waited forever for it. But in all fairness they had been extremely busy for the long holiday. Still that does not excuse the rudeness of the door greeter whom gets a cut in the collected monies for the band. BUT we were there 1 1/2 hours before the band would start we should be able to eat and leave bf show time.
I really think they dragged their feet just so we were there when the show started and could charge extra 5. A person. My hubby says no way they would not do that. Well he was in the comfort room when the co-owner went by
25 minutes till the show started, we had just gotten our calzones, and she said she would be needing our table soon.
Well, our order was not immediately put in when we put in our order. She ran around and took drink orders from others before putting in our order. Anyway, the question is, is it the kiss of death for a place to brag up a place and then get there and the experience is less than sterling?

I have standing reservations for 45 minutes bf the show started. I contacted them changing it to 1 1/2 hours before the show started. So you think that had anything to do with it?

I would be writing a letter to the manager without attitude.... just saying you have been a long time loyal customer and how you felt about the way you were treated..... Dont give them an out... there is no excuse for mismanagement just because they are busy. There are strategies they could have used to be able to handle an event... Like abbreviating their menu.... to make it easier to serve everyone up... Putting someone at the front booth that stresses service .... Or even a separate person to cover the concert over someone to seat people.

You might get a free meal out of it. If they are smart they will know customer retention is something they should work their butts off to manage. It costs more to loose a customer in more than just that customer.... because they will pass on the word and they will loose more over it.

for instance I go to a little home grown espresso place. The woman that owns it doesn't even drink coffee. The coffee is meah... I would take Starbucks in an instant over thiers. But their customer service is outstanding... They know me by name and my order is always... 'My Usual"

When I go through starbucks I have to repeat several times because my drink is not one of their recipes. Its an easy drink... espresso halfand half and sweet and low. But I want it in a Hot cup that is sixteen ounces... Half the time I get it with Ice in it .... One time they got completely confused when i tried to break it down that they took all the espresso out of my sons drink and put it in a separate cup for me....

Grant it this is a Starbucks that does training for most of the city... But would rather drink coffee that is right or at least mostly right.

@ApiaryandAviary , Deb is right. Write them a letter, or send an email to corporate if it's a chain. Customer service is everything. If a business doesn't have that down, then they will go down the tubes. Any business.

Including @Beer can 's recent experience with the chicks. Beer Can, I think you will like the Sussex breed if you choose to keep them. My main rooster is a speckled Sussex. He is awesome. My only complaint is I cannot find SS hens for him. I have bought a few, but I think the speckles on the pullets attract hawks, owls, etc. Only had one make it to adulthood then she showed signs of Maraks and died. All in all, the Sussex I have (SS+many mixed now), are very curious, alert, and they are a very good breed. Hope you enjoy them, but I understand the frustration of that not being what you ordered.

@minihorse927 , When it rains it pours! Roosters & broke down car. Did you get the car fixed?

4th of July was awesome. Weather was nice. My daughter & I were in the parade throwing out candy, representing the bank. She has been so excited about being in the parade. She called all of her friends. I think we counted 5 confederate flags. Guess we probably have more flying up north than they do down south. LOL!!

Time to get breakfast cooking & get ready for church. Have a great day everyone.

@Outpost JWB Decided to keep the sussex. Everything I've read about them is good. Surprising more people don't have them. Comparable to the Delaware and New Hampshire as far as egg laying ability, meatiness, and quick growth. In a breed that dates back to the Roman Empire.
The reds seem hard to find, SandHill and Walt's Ark ranch in Colorado (they want $15ea!) are the only ones that come up, sure there is others if I dig deeper maybe.
