Please share your recipe for drinking bacon

Nah :lau the drink is separate from the bacon.

Maybe more drink will keep me from being sad about the lack of bacon. :D

Mini those are cute ducks! What kind are they?

Dh and I cleaned out the big insulated shed, built 2 awesome quail cages and put everyone in there this afternoon. We turned all the lights off to avoid the bickering among them all as we introduced a new group of ducks to the main flock.
We will be building a much larger run then before over the next few nights after work.

Found another wasp nest too.

Has anyone hatched ducks dry and upright in egg cartons? I've got some due Tuesday.

Yep...

I wait until it looks like they have internally pipped.. Then I brake open a hole, and make sure they can breath.. Unstick membranes... Keep doing that 2 to 3 times a day for maybe 3 days... And they finish hatching themselves.

Actually... I have a set I should go crack open right now... But maybe I should wait until tomorrow when my hands are a bit more steady

@minihorse927 love the broody Ohiki!!! :)

And you just can't help torturing me with those gorgeous Snowy's, hmm???
nope, and you're not getting my breeder hens! :D

@BriardChickens, those are snowy call ducks. In the winter coloring. They're my breeders. They weigh no more than 1.5lbs. Most weighing 1 lb.

@BriardChickens, I hatch all my ducks in egg cartons upright. Well, except calls. I have hatched then fry before but always have to rescue a couple due to stuck membranes. I always add some water when I'm hatching ducks. Everything else I've been hatching and incubating 100% dry and having excellent results.
