don't count those whites out just yet. I'm praying they are faint silvers or lilacs! Those 2 colors take a while to show through. They look white till the finally one day have color. If they are true whites, I wouldn't use them no matter what. That is recessive white showing and it is not something you want in your flock.
yes, and yes.For recessive white I'd have to have both parents "give" the white gene, correct?
When you say longer to show silver or lilac.. do you mean fully feathered 20+ weeks or even longer?
@BriardChickens , I just called the USDA for my state and it isn't that hard to ship you egg.![]()
I have to be NPIP certified, AI tested, (already am) and have a USDA certified vet inspect the flock. Fill out the forms, have the USDA sign off on them and I have to ship within 30 days of inspection. You are kidding!!??So what does it take?
If you want to, I'll give you the eggs if you pay the shipping expense and the inspection fee.
uhg, called my local vets office about the inspection and he is USDA certified but their receptionist is a PITA. She was like oh we don't see birds. Uhm yeah, I know Brian on a personal level. Let me talk to him. Oh he's out of the office till the 14. Blech. I'm fairly positive he'll sign the USDA papers. That is so generous of you!!![]()
THANK YOU!!!
DH says "ok"... so lets figure out shipping and inspection fees![]()
