@Beer can. That is an awesome pic! Beautiful kids & pumpkins. What have you done to amend the soil to make them grow so good? Mine start out wonderful vines, get a small pumpkin, then either the vine dies or the pumpkin rots.

I love going to the pumpkin farms in the fall. Speaking of fall, it's right around the corner, but today, it's suppose to be in the 90s here. You all have a great day! Lots to do on my day off.

@Outpost JWB chicken poop. I tilled a area by our pond that I couldn't get anything I planted to grow but it's full sun all day. Tilled a long row, many wheelbarrow loads of old deep litter from the coop, 50 gallon barrel of wood ash mixed in.
Plant plants with a layer of soil under so the roots have to grow into manure. Never had them burn doing this.

One of the ladies I gave some patty pan to thereafter referred to it as "flying saucer squash"

Typo dude, typo...,

I think you meant DD #2

Yeah! Lol! :-D
I had it right until I decided it was supposed to be capitalized, still learning those abbreviation thingys. Good thing I have Google to decipher texts....

LOL! ;). I thought you meant she was bossy like my DD. Poor hubby. Sometimes it's like having 2 wives! DD & I surely test his patience.

The bottom of our high temps are suppose to drop out this week here in Ohio. I love fall, but hate winter. Not sure why I stay in Ohio. Too much trouble to move maybe.

BYC and my iPad are not on the same wavelength this morning. I have no emojis or any edit options. :(

Perchiegirl, how is the weight battle? I have managed to lose and keep off 15 pounds since end of March. I do zumba a few times a week, walk about 10 miles a week leisurely. A few Weeks ago, one of my coworkers asked if I wanted to go walking with him. Now, every Friday, we use our 20 minute lunch to walk and we take the stairs.....6 floors! That still hurts my knees, but it's getting easier.

You all have a great day!

I predict a cold, cold winter. At least that's my story for the extra 10 lbs. I've put on. Of course, my newfound gummi bear addiction didn't help, I'm sure. But -- the positive side effect -- I have the strongest nails I've ever had!

It's harvest season and things are just so super busy here. Apples to harvest and sauce. Tomatoes to salsate. Peppers to roast. Garden to clean up. Added onto this is CEU (continuing education units) deadline for maintaining my license in a career I care nothing about, winterizing the house and yard, trying to get the greenhouse cleaned out. Plus a high school reunion, trip, new dog on the way. I'm getting bombarded and overwhelmed with past, present and future stuff. I get why people drink in the winter. But me, I'll just chomp a few more gummi's.

Chickens are molting. Maaaaaaybe two eggs a day, if I'm lucky. And, of course, my clients don't understand why with all the garden goodies the girls are on strike. Sigh..... Maybe I should give them some gummi bears, too.
