I am all for a proper European setup.... a U shape of buildings that is ALL CONNECTED and includes barns and house, and the open side of the U fenced closed.

Spouse refused to connect the coops to the house.

I wanted a window in the kitchen that opened into the coop....open window and chunk out scraps....walla!

I love that set up. Seen them many trips on the other side of the pond. Was surprised with how much of Verona's village walls still In tack. So many village walls were dismantled and used for homes right down to the front stoop. I love the front courtyard.
 
That would be sweet. I miss my old ramshackled coop that was conected to my house... Flipping spouses
I could peek in on them from my deck, or pop out the into carport and they were right there. It was great for everything they needed. Guess I should have married Alaskan :lau

Was talking with a friend at work yesterday. She is one of 15 children... all of the same mother and father. 2 sets of twins. 2 miscarriages to start. So her mother was pregnant 15 times!!!

That should make us all feel better.

I had one
Mom had one
Grandma had one
Great Grandma had nine that lived and two miscarriages.....

One had nine as well Grandma had one and her oldest sister had none. The rest had two or three each... and the one Son that lived through WWI had two I believe...
All of those grandchilderen had four or five.... Great Grand Children had three at least.... Great Great Grand children are still "IN production" LOL.

Just Grandmas sister Rose had 99 at the last family reunion .... five generations....
