I got two this year that are not colors I thought I would get.. 1 kinda like what you have...and then a darker one.

The wing feathers coming in are not exciting though.

I have a few rather neat looking ones coming up, Wild looking, deep brown birds and a gray one. Really enjoying these mutts, hoping the neat looking ones are hens

and Sour, something got my Phoebe eggs. checked the nest 4 days after i took the pic of the eggs, and it's empty.
they wouldn't hatch and fly away that fast would they?

got my media figured out.

Here is my latest a practice piece. The stone is a glass bead shaped like a piece of seashell. Wire is 18 gauge and 24 gauge.

and Sour, something got my Phoebe eggs. checked the nest 4 days after i took the pic of the eggs, and it's empty.
they wouldn't hatch and fly away that fast would they?


No, it takes several weeks to fledge and leave the nest. Strangely the same thing happened to the first nest of 'my' Phoebe. She started a second nest on another corner of the porch. Cowbirds frequently parasitize Phoebe nest. Perhaps they toss out the eggs ? I haven't checked to see if there is a cowbird egg in this nest.

Ravyn, V is doing good I think, got a perfectly normal egg from her! Going to keep her in isolation a while longer. Fingers crossed

I was pretty sure i remembered the little ones being in the nest for at least several days. I looked around for broken shells, didn't see any. The nest was a bit disheveled, but not totally blasted. it was built on top of my porch light, up close to the porch ceiling, out of the way for anything to just fly by and notice. Bummer. Maybe mine will start another too. Hope yours make the second round.

Awesome!!! Sounds like a good plan... would keep her on increased calcium too, for now... very glad she is doing better...
