Jem, Here is my "tractor" that I use for my meaties. 25 is the max I can have at a time in it. It is 5 ft wide and 8 ft long. Top has metal roof on 1/2 and other half is two panel with hardware cloth that can be removed to access pen. The two windows on top are from old storm doors and Iuse them to slide up and over to cover the wire panels if it's raining. It is suppose to storm, I have a tarp I can cover the whole thing with. There is a door on the back side (it is open in the photo so you can sort of see the edge of it folded flat against the back of the tractor. The wheels came off an old stroller and are set really close to the ground. I use a rope tied to the front (and/or a low slung dolly) to lift and drag it around. When I have meat birds, I start them in a small coop in the barn and then move them into the tractor at 4 weeks for Cornish X and maybe 5 weeks for Freedom Rangers. The Cornish X are ready to go by 6 or 7 weeks but you can hold them off for longer to get more size on them. Mine are usually done at 7-8 weeks because that is about how long I can take the constant mess they make. I move the tractor once a day (each time is 8 feet) until they are about 6 weeks, then I have to move it twice a day. We have a well go don't pay city water rates so I take the hose with the spray nozzle on it and spray down all the poop each time I move them. The poop melts into the ground so the flies aren't attracted and it is diluted to help the grass not be burned by it.

kewl ya thats about the kinda pen I want to make except I have to make it so it will go thru the gate..or maybe do it so it can be put over the raised bed....to let them turn the soil for some fall meaties..did you find a preference with the cross versus the red rangers? myself I love dark meat but @Sharps Big 50 is all about the breast...Jem, Here is my "tractor" that I use for my meaties. 25 is the max I can have at a time in it.
