The Freedom Rangers are longer, I usually go 10 to 11 weeks with them to get them comparable sized. They probably don't eat any more feed in that time than the CX in 7 but they grow a bit slower and have more leg meat than the CX. Can't beat the CX for quantity of breast meat, but they can develop leg issues from quick growth and heavy weights.
The Freedom Rangers are not the same as red rangers. Freedom Ranger is a trade marked name and must come from specific breeding stock to be called that. The Cornish X have a patented genetic make-up and there are different "strains" owned by large companies that have different names. If you ask a hatchery which strain their broilers are, they should be able to tell you.
