My turn..my turn lol
I have seen them around and see hatching eggs on ebay for them alot but I dont really know anything about them, they must not have hit my friendly chicken radar... really I want super friendly chickens...those mean ole rir my grandma had really dug a deep impression and I just dont want anything to do with mean ole chickens lolI'm getting them more for their size, but I've read Langshans have "full breasts, and an abundance of white meat rich in flavor. The white meat of the Langshan is also particularly white in color." Livestock Conservancy.
hahah yeah thats about right lil stinker she will leap into my hand before one of the others manage to climb on for first dibs at cuddles..My turn..my turn lol
sounds like you been busy and productive we missed yaI had a busy day off. Cleaned the coop with the new shavings I bought. The brand from that feed store is a lot lighter and fluffier. What do you pay for your shavings? I paid ~$12. Broody got her box taken away. She went outside and is just "stretching out" now. I think she's happy. Also learned a lesson, don't let curiosity strike another 3 times after the first stinky rotten egg goes over your gloves. All 4 eggs were brown liquid inside.
Then made dog food.
I also dropped off the dog at a kennel. My dog will be boarded while we are on our honeymoon. The request from the long term boarder/Kennel was for my dog to stay 1 night in a kennel before the vacation as a prep. He has never been boarded before so it's a "mom will be back for you" lesson. I am sad, the house is so empty without my big "DumDum".
Leghorn, yes. Legbar, no. The legbars were from an eBay vendor and in the incubator at the same tie.so you have gotten leghorn and legbar from trader joe eggs?
I think we should all call this store and request that they stock fertile eggs.... for health reasons, of course.I just called our local Trader Joe's and asked if they sold fertilized eggs there and she said "WHAT?" Like I was prank calling her. So I said "I have read online that people have bought fertilized chicken eggs from Trader Joe's". She put me on hold a few minutes, came back to the phone seemed even more angry and informed me that they are "a grocery store. Not a farm store!" LOL!! Guess they don't sell them around here.
We don't talk about that other place....I did not know bama was in chicken jail.....I also just realized CFH is all gone. Off my thread list and all the way deleted. If it happened a week or so ago, sorry. I am not up on the happenings apparently.
The first rule of Fight Club is......?It's 1984, so be careful. Shhh!
I think a 3 x 8 would be fine for that amount. The most importantahh kewl thanks bunchs @NotAFarm thanks for being so patient and helpful with your information and everything.. I know probly seems like an endless line of questions...do you think a 3 by 8 pen would be ok for say 10 15 of them ...I am kinda leaning torwards cross but I am not totally against red rangers either I dunno..heck I might even just incubate some of my barnyard mix and try it that way... I have read about the leg issues and growing to fast especially if the feed is over fed or believe it was too high in protien or something..and that they are gluttonous pigs
I heard polish don't do good in cold weather. I have one golden laced hen and she seems to be doing ok.
