I had a busy day off. Cleaned the coop with the new shavings I bought. The brand from that feed store is a lot lighter and fluffier. What do you pay for your shavings? I paid ~$12. Broody got her box taken away. She went outside and is just "stretching out" now. I think she's happy. Also learned a lesson, don't let curiosity strike another 3 times after the first stinky rotten egg goes over your gloves. All 4 eggs were brown liquid inside.

Then made dog food.

I also dropped off the dog at a kennel. My dog will be boarded while we are on our honeymoon. The request from the long term boarder/Kennel was for my dog to stay 1 night in a kennel before the vacation as a prep. He has never been boarded before so it's a "mom will be back for you" lesson. I am sad, the house is so empty without my big "DumDum".

kewl ya thats about the kinda pen I want to make except I have to make it so it will go thru the gate..or maybe do it so it can be put over the raised bed....to let them turn the soil for some fall meaties..did you find a preference with the cross versus the red rangers? myself I love dark meat but @Sharps Big 50 is all about the breast...

I'm getting them more for their size, but I've read Langshans have "full breasts, and an abundance of white meat rich in flavor. The white meat of the Langshan is also particularly white in color." Livestock Conservancy.

I pay $14 for a big dang bale

Nephews in hospital again with another attack ( pancreatitis ) healing vibes and or prayers chicken friends, they won't give him anything for the pain... yet. Its sad they treat him like a drug addict here where as in Vancouver they kept him pain free with two forms of morphine...

Any thought on what breed this is?

Bad pic, but their bantam sized... My friends mom is getting these and I will be getting some eggs to hatch of course...

Yup heat lamp, Polish was my only guess.

I heard polish don't do good in cold weather. I have one golden laced hen and she seems to be doing ok.

Their living in cold weather already ( if they are polish ) they are from a hour or so away. I will give them a try if I get some eggs. New coop and run should be helpful. Glad to know yours is fairing well beer..
