I was very covert, she asked 10 minutes after I already had it drying if I was going to build it or not...
But now I'm thinking if I should use polyurethane foam instead of rock wool for the sides, it would sit there better and lock the inner bucket in it's place. Problem is I don't think I have any at home and it would cost about 6-7 euros to buy a container... But it wouldn't care about getting wet so it might be a better solution. The lid part I will cut out of aluminium coated polyurethane insulation board that I've got a bit of in storage.
Sam, that's the stuff. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and buy some of that. It would be a lot better, it has a better R value than rock wool too.
Ok, I'm getting excited about this now, it's going to be the best winter waterer ever, I'm sure of it. Maybe the 20W heater cable will even be enough to keep it from freezing.
Anyone have any ideas for making the lid have pretty edges on the inside? I'd like to cover them with something so that I don't get PU dust in the waterer all the time. Caulk might be a bit overkill...
