Dixie Chicks

I haven't read up on fermented feeds yet, only sprouting grains for sprouts or fodder. Quick question, do you ferment grains or actual laying mash?

DH was in the Navy. Best use of taxpayer dollars is training all those feral bachelors how to clean and fold laundry! Hubby does an excellent bathroom (and his own laundry). However, he's still a little nervous around the chickens to tackle the coop (which is a breeze to clean, btw). Watching him handfeed the chickens is like watching a toddler at the duck pond. Kind of just throws it at them. Well, I'll give him points as he's trying and learning.....

I ferment layer crumble or pellets or whatever specific feed... Duck, starter, grower... Crumble works the best for me.

Reminded me of the time Myself and punky chicken were feeding some of the big seagulls on the coast... He was obviously a little scared of the bird and when he went to reached out with a french fry I grabbed his waist and screamed and terrified him and the gull... :D. Ha ha ha -evil laugh-

I've done both but find that the whole grains are better, for me, in the winter. The mash is too "goopey" and sticks to their beaks and I don't like that when it is freezing out. Mine have access to crumbles and get fermented grains in the morning, sometimes with sprouted grains stirred in before feeding.

In Finland it's traditional to take the tree out thirteen days after Xmas, while in Swedish speaking homes it's often twenty days. We didn't put up any Christmas decorations at home, so there hasn't been any cleaning needed, super nice.

Our bunny planning is progressing. I think we've decided to get them now for sure. Still have to settle on what kind of bunny we get. But looks like I'm building a bunny hutch come spring.
