Morning. I've never had cornbread, might try making some some day...

You are going to get innundated with recipes..... there is a cornbread reciepe for every region and taste and ethnic background....

Best to start with a basic recipe.

So far I have found allrecipes.com to have a good selection... I usually choose the ones with the most stars.

And Yep its Whole corn not blended... I have never made it that way but I have had it and its to die for good.

Cornbread can be sweet or savory what ever you want.

The savory has an afinnity to all sorts of herbs. And cheese and hot peppers.

the sweet I like as a muffin with a bit of honey butter as a condoment...

My grandma prefers the plain non sweet corn bread with Pinto beans or Butter beans. It too can be served with honey butter.... or just butter or plain....

I have seen baking powder or baking soda used as a levener...

Once you understand the basic needs that cornbread requires chemically.... you can get very very creative on how you like it.

I have seen it cooked with Bacon, Jalepenos, Cheese, Pepper jack cheese, Cheddar, Also whole roasted corn cooked on the barbeque and cut from the cob.
