I hear the menonites do it too.. just how do I make friends with them?

See my Mennonite friends are totally traditional, so I can help you with that one...
Find some Mennonites that have left the formal church you know ones were the women wear pants... They Still have all the old skills there just... They are Not part of that super tightly knit community anymore... That said lots of the traditional Mennonites would probably be willing to help if you just ask most of them seem to be really friendly good people...

I'm thinking about labeling my eggs when I retell them in the health food store...
F bomb eggs... Fresh, fertile, free range and fed fermented feed!

Deb, rubber straps over that would keep them in place, you'd want to clean it prior to processing anyway so the fact that they might harbor some bacteria would probably not be an issue. I'd rather go with steel over plastic though, for some reason it feels cleaner to me. Plus a knife wouldn't leave scores that offer hiding places for bacteria.

Hopefully I wouldnt be cutting right on the table... If it were required to cut on the top I would use a cutting board that could be stuck in the dishwasher. Besides I wouldnt want to cut on stainless because it would dull the knife...

Deb, you should check on the plastic vs steel issue, that's just a personal feeling I have. Yeah, cutting on the steel isn't a good idea, but sometimes knives slip. Plus with a plastic table, you might feel that you can cut on it just this one time... steel would sort of force you to observe health issues more rigorously. Food safety is something we talk a lot about with Karin due to her work, and the point about shortcuts is something she brings up often. Quite a literal example would be on a dairy farm. You should not put doors in places that offer shortcuts that make it possible to go through without a cleaning station, if the door is there, someone will use it.
