Good memory. Several years ago I had one (1) Trader Joe's egg in with the faverolles and wheaten marans eggs for the Easter HAL....and it hatched! A little leghorn we named Token who went on to lay lots of nice white eggs. And, come to think of it, I did set a dozen one other time...but they were duds or, more accurately, I had a temp spike that created duds.wooohooo lockdown @Peep_Show hey didnt you do trader joe eggs before in the nyhal as well what kinda chicken came out?![]()
I gotta ask, WHY? Did she have other kids and enjoy her placenta each time? Did she BBQ it? UGH!![]()
so you have gotten leghorn and legbar from trader joe eggs?Good memory. In the September HAL in 2014 I had one TJ's egg that hatched along with some CCL mix eggs. That is my TeJae and then also Lucy, the crazy redheaded (supposedly pure...Ha, not likely!) Legbar...she looks like a cinnamon roadrunner.
There are companies that freeze dry, pulverize and put into capsules folks' placentas. Supposedly VERY nutritious, but no way does that overcome the ewwww factor.
As Far as I know she only ate a piece from her last birth... She has four kids and it's quite the process trying to have a baby here long story... So with her fourth child she had an unattended homebirth and the reason behind consuming the placenta is it is believed, if not proven, that it prevents hemorrhaging if you consume it... It has other benefited as well, with similar nutritional values to any organ meat.
Sidenote I didn't even want to see mine ( placentas ) after I had my boys
I just called our local Trader Joe's and asked if they sold fertilized eggs there and she said "WHAT?" Like I was prank calling her. So I said "I have read online that people have bought fertilized chicken eggs from Trader Joe's". She put me on hold a few minutes, came back to the phone seemed even more angry and informed me that they are "a grocery store. Not a farm store!" LOL!! Guess they don't sell them around here.Good memory. Several years ago I had one (1) Trader Joe's egg in with the faverolles and wheaten marans eggs for the Easter HAL....and it hatched!
