BC, rabbits around here are mostly pets, so people only have like one or two of them. So most feeds are available in that kind of sizes. From a pet keeping point of view I can see someone being willing to pay 4-5 times more for their hay, bedding and feed, but if they're to be grown as a protein source, the horse feed would be a lot cheaper alternative. You probably have access to a lot better selection of rabbit feeds. Also, the commercial feeds sold here are meant for bunnies that are kept indoors in a small cage, they're really low in nutrients. We want something the bunnies will grow quickly on, and as we're planning on keeping them outside, they'll need a lot more energy.
