Dixie Chicks

BC, rabbits around here are mostly pets, so people only have like one or two of them. So most feeds are available in that kind of sizes. From a pet keeping point of view I can see someone being willing to pay 4-5 times more for their hay, bedding and feed, but if they're to be grown as a protein source, the horse feed would be a lot cheaper alternative. You probably have access to a lot better selection of rabbit feeds. Also, the commercial feeds sold here are meant for bunnies that are kept indoors in a small cage, they're really low in nutrients. We want something the bunnies will grow quickly on, and as we're planning on keeping them outside, they'll need a lot more energy.

Thank you, all of you... It's been long and hard, and gonna be longer and harder but I refuse to give up... I am very lucky to have Jim by my side now, he is unfailing in his support, even when my hope is low...
Thank you for the support as well... Every bit helps...

Best wishes to you and your girls. It's really hard going through that.

I had one that would not quit hitting my window. I thought it might break the window or hurt itself so I took a bed sheet and hung it outside to block the view. It only took one day and then I took the sheet down. He never came back....he thought he had chased off the one I guess.

I think I'll have to put something outside, maybe a screen but our screens are on the inside. He also comes around the front of the house and does the same thing to the big window and also to another bedroom window.

@chickwhispers , I think you should try to get a commercial for window cleaner. Your windows are so clean he can't see them. He doesn't seem to be too bright though. After the 10th or 11th time, you'd think he'd learn!

Everyone is freaking out around here. A major bridge overpass they were working on yesterday (I-75) collapsed yesterday. Killing one construction worker & injuring a semi truck driver. DH went over the new portion of that bridge yesterday, just an hour before the collapse. This is what happens on my vacation.....I watch the news too much!!!

@Outpost JWB I saw that this morning. Oh my! I knew you were down there somewhere. Glad your hubby's timing was good and is OK.

The windows are fairly clean on that side of the house. LOL.

I wonder if I let them grow if they get big enough for a BBQ? That is probably what is going to happen to them.

I had seven roos last yr. Kept checking their breasts for meat. At twenty weeks they were being mean to my pullets and ganging up on the wellie roo I was keeping so off with their heads! The smallest a polish dressed out at three pounds, largest RIR was four dressed, rest in between. I have some left in the freezer. I'm going to debone them like on the video someone posted on 'waste not want not'. And soak them in Salameidas's state fair chicken spedie sauce to tenderize. Then on the grill rolled up.
