So here are the pictures I promised you all of the laundry room paint update. DH is happy with the change (somewhat). He says because the color is dark, it makes the room look smaller.....Ummmm.....the room IS Small! Oh Well! I like it and I am the one who spends the most time in there. I wanted to remove the shelves, but they are anchored in the wall and will leave huge holes if I pull them out.

AFTER:

I like the change.... and the wisdom of keeping the ceiling white.... You could do some track lighing up there to take advantage of that white ceiling.

There is no absolute rule that small rooms have to be white.

When I had my bathroom rehabbed I chose Tiles that are kind of like a mocha colored non shiny too. The Contractor who is used to doing homes for him to sell said it was too dark for such a small room.... I said "You are really not going to like what I have for the floor...." Same color only 12 x 12 and thicker for for floors.... He just rolled his eyes.

So I have a Picture of it.... I forgot...
Before:

the floors were so rotten the only thing keeping me from falling through was the linoleum... The shower tiles were crunchy under foot.... I felt my shower shoes needed shoes to go in there....

NOW:

Now even though the walls are darker they reflect the light much better. I had it tiled all the way up to the ceiling and put in a single shower pan which is about the same foot print as a bath tub... NO MORE LEAKING... Even the shower curtain is up to the task of keeping the bathroom floor dry... I am amazed because I bought a special six foot high glass shower door for it. I may still put it in... I know how I put one in when I was six months pregnant at my last house.

My Miss Petunia... she was an excellent mouser. I found her a new home after I moved out.

But the floor in the kitchen is the red color... the new floor in the bathroom is a bit darker than the shower stall.

For what its worth the original owner of the house painted the linoleum to look like terracotta tile. Its pretty scuffed up but I kind of liked his idea. I WONT be doing that when i have the kitchen rehabbed. I want either Big tiles like Alaskan has or concrete...

My ex roommate kept her pee bucket in the shower. She didnt like to cross the living room in the middle of the night so she kept a bucket in the bedroom..... I am so glad she is gone.

Good Morning all! I slept much better last night. However the sore throat is gone but instead a nice deep lung cough has taken hold of me. I did sleep with my hot water bottle on the chest last night (instead of it by the feet).

We shall see, oh yeah and the voice is now a dead give away that something has got a hold of me.

I agree, nice bathroom transformation! Always fun to look at the before and after pics :)

@perchie.girl , The bathroom looks lots better! Glad the room mate is gone also. Lazy and nasty. Just saying. You don't need added stress. Our bathrooms both need redone. The small one has a hole in the tub that has been patched, and patched and patched and still leaks. It's a whole insert and because this is a mobile home- Lowe's, Home Depot, and home improvement places do not sell the size we need. We have to go through a mobile home place, order one and pay out the ***. Our original plan was to put together the master bathroom and bedroom (currently gutted and a storage area), then fix up the little bathroom. Just hasn't happened yet. Lack of time, energy & money.
Your mom and grandma are so lucky to have you help them. I'm sure they are very thankful for you. By the way, the cat pic creeped me out a bit....

@Amberjem , I don't like how the previous owners put a long shelf, then a short shelf. I can't reach the long shelf on top. So I was going to remove the short shelf and move the long shelf down, or remove both and put cabinets up. After seeing all the holes that would be in the wall, I'll put that plan on hold. Cabinets will cover it, but the cabinets I have do not reach all the way over to the wall. I can't have wasted space, because it is such a small room.

Vick's vaporub and hot black currant juice is what I like for sore throats.

The tub got me thinking. How good are you at welding? That would be a way to fix it. Another would be to laminate over it with glass fibre. Of course, the enamel would be an issue...wouldn't be too pretty.

It's a Fiberglass tub and wall insert.

That makes things a lot easier. It's like repairing a boat, not that difficult. You'll need to sand the area around the hole clean on both sides, and then you can laminate it. If the hole isn't too big, you won't even need too many layers. Basically, you can form a mess of glass fibre and resin that you fill the hole with, and then laminate maybe two or three layers on both sides of it. If you want it to look as new, you wound need to sand the whole thing down to the gelcoat, but you can make pretty decent looking repairs even in smaller areas. I'm guessing youtube has some how to's on boat repair that might aid you. I've only worked on boats, and I was maybe 15 when we last needed to do something like that, so I mainly observed my dad doing it, but it isn't all that difficult.

*Edit* Oh, you will need to paint it afterwards. Hempel makes the best paints in my opinion, but I' sure there are cheaper alternatives available too. The paint will set you back a bit though, since you'll need a couple of different products, but the fibreglass is cheap, as is the resin. I'm guessing you could get it fixed for about 100 bucks. I haven't followed the development in the boat paints in later years, so there might even be some combo paints so that you'll only need two different kinds.

Chickens are my addiction. Like DH smokes & drinks, I have chickens.
And there are far worse addictions to have.... At least you have something to show when the money's spent and gone.

WAY better!

X2 on enjoying the Before and After pictures.

Moonshine and honey cures a sore throat. Even if your throat doesn't feel better, you won't care. Lol.
Lemon juice, honey and brandy does the same thing. Makes being sick far more palatable.

I was called in to work this morning, but told them I can't. Not a lie. Hubby needs car today. When the phone rang, I had this feeling for sure

I AM ON VACATION! They will figure it out. Anyways I have lots of work to do here.

I just messaged the CCL breeder to see if we can meet this weekend if they still have them for sale.

I have to clean out the crates so I have someway to transport them. IF all works out, I will be getting 2 more rabbits tonight (now 6 total) and 5 CCL this weekend.
