:hugs     hows your new birds?
Doing much better and the cuckoo are eating like horses. Poor things were so drug down by the lice! Gave the a dose of dewormer to get rid of the little critters and a hefty dose of vitamin mineral electrolyte supplement. Tonight they're getting a bath.

icky well be ncie when they are all cleaned up :) if the weather stays nice I might try to slip two chicks to violet this evening... I didnt want to do it last night cuz we had a huge wind storm and rain storm and it got chilly......

so when introducing chicks to a broody hen are there any tricks or helpful suggestions ppl have to handle the process? Anything to look out for warning sighs or anything?

I always just slip them under from behind her and watch to see what happens. If they're active already they'll move around a stick their little heads out from under her. She should start clucking and talking to them gently. If she starts getting mean just take them away. My broodies always get really excited when they're given chicks.

Blink Blink Blink... need coffee.

I may be going up to the house today... If I can afford to put some fuel in my truck. I need enough to drive 160 miles... about eight gallones. so round up to ten.... forty bucks... Gotto love my truck even with 300,000 miles (482803.2 km) on it it still gets 20+ MPG

Neeed to haul hay and dog and catfood either today or tomorrow.

Hey there, Jembo!

Good here, thanks, how are things there? How many Alabamian chicks did you end up with?

We assembled the bunny pen frame today. This thing would make a nice mini chicken run too, for maybe three or four birds.
