SO happy the kid is getting better....  I don't ever like them dangerous sick... but I have to say I actually kinda like it when they are sleepy sick on occasion.

Now that I can "talk" again... no posts? I kinda like the design of that wooden one I posted earlier.

The round logs would be turned into the corners.. This white bleep outside needs to go so we can start construction!! On duck shelter and our new house.

DO IT!! DO IT! All you have to do it friend the other crazy bird people and if family just keeps pushing: friend them but restrict them to what they can see.

yeah, the one you posted looked good, maybe a bit difficult to rake out the poop though.

The nice thing about when I was using just a garden cart, every so often I would just take the thing and flip it away, clean up everything and then put is back down a bit further over.

I'd probably make it a bit higher just for that reason. If the shelter gets built in our "forest" it'll need more clearance anyway as we can get a decent amount of snow in the forest. If I don't get enough clearance, maybe one could put he "roof" on a hinge.... hmmmm. Putting on the thinking hat here

a hinged roof is a great idea.


I would maybe want a removable one foot lip all around the edges, to help keep out snow and water etc.

But removable, so you could still rake it out easily.

Or even a permanent lip. Not so much in our forest, but usually our snow just blows sideways anyway. A lip is a must.

Now to figure out a secure run or lock away area for them. There is a family of foxes not far from us.
