I turned the heat off to snap some quick pictures of the ducklings!! I am going to have a really hard time putting them outside! @minihorse927 I mentioned to the "egg seller" that 2 were all yellow and she's willing to replace "the 2 white ones" with 2 more eggs! I did NOT expect that. I'd pick them up when driving by her farm in BC next week and at that point why not get extra? Also, I am considering getting more of her eggs.. haha!!

Solid white ones can turn out to be silver, lilac, blues, or recessive white. Some Ancona do carry the recessive white genes. So far I think I'm lucky as it has not popped up in my flock.

yes! I'd kill for a silver and I've got 1 lilac. She's gorgeous. I'd take a whole flock of lilac if I could!

I don't hear any peeping which I think I should at this point. One egg is so "full" the light doesn't tell me a thing so I should be able to hear a peep or feel movement in there. Nothing.

Put the egg up to your ear and tap with your fingernail. If they're alive that'll usually get a response.

no response on the first, decided to crack the shell. Still no response and peeled the shell away, broke the membrane. Dead duckling. Head a bit of the yolk left but other then that looked perfect!
