Dixie Chicks

The reason I am interested in the sand and sawdust method is because its likened to hydroponics...

I dont have the muscle to to soil amendments.... nor do I have someone to do it for me.

I will give it a try on a small scale... hopefully grandma wont give me heck...

Don't hate me @Alaskan.

My quail are supposed to hatch today.

I come home from work and go look in the incubator.

I have 26 out and at least 2 more working on it out of 33 eggs that survived shipping.

And they're so freakin' cute!

Do they make as much noise cheeping that chicks do?

Oops -- a Lt. Brahma x BLRW hatched 1/3/15 -- laid her first egg today.

Can you spot it?

Really kind of funny beucase she 's my biggest bird, but the last to lay.
At 1.01 oz I'm not sure if it even qualifies for a PeeWee grading.

I have these around my place.... and when I have chickens there are a couple of males that base their whole flock close to the house....
