I am SUPER excited!


I have always wanted d'anvers!   

The kids love our d'uccles, but I HATE the feathered feet... I think a few got a bit of frostbite on the toes....  but how would I know?  Those nasty feathers!

anyway, d'anvers are just d'uccles but better suited for mud and cold.

I was a bit bummed though... she said that she would ship me everything that hatched, and thought that she might have 30 hatch... but only 21 popped out!

 

HOWEVER, some of my favorite colors ever are in the batch!

Watched a quad of svarts just go for $1000. Or at least that's the current bid.

yeahyeah... there are a couple of other things that I almost fell for.... but I kept reminding myself, if I don't know them, at least by reputation, I might just be flushing my money away..


boggy bottom bantams though.... I know they rock... and that was a SUPER good price... I wanted to buy some eggs or chicks from them a few years back, but the prices are high...

they sell extra eggs on ebay too... but those keep getting bid up too high for my taste.

Baby grey call... entire left side of his breast is prickly and he just ripped off a bunch of down during and after his bath...

Hopefully her... think 3 outta my 4 older ones are boys...

I REALLY want a good hatch... not sure why...

as stated earlier, my ams are duds genetically... but it would be nice to have the BLR Wyandottes hatch... the stinkers weren't really laying when I wanted to set eggs... I am thinking that with only 4 eggs set, they will be 1 girls and 3 boys... or maybe none will hatch....

My leghorns though.... THAT is a good breed... I almost never get a clear egg fro them... and almost every single egg that starts hatches... so, I put in 2 eggs, both were fertile, both are growing VERY well.... I bet both of those hatch!

fancy shipped eggs are supposed to hatch Sat. I took out clears, clear blood rings, and clearly rotten.... but I haven't done a super close "are you alive or dead" candle... dunno.... we shall see when they hatch.
