BTW you need to snap those scapes off your garlic but don't throw them away, they are yummy in a stirfry or chopped into a salad

Just snapped the scapes off my German Porcelin this afternoon (my Russian isn't quite that far along yet) got enough off the first 75 plants to have stirfry tomorrow and blanch some to add to my fresh beans on Monday and toss into the fresh Kale salad as well!

pardon my ignorance.... what is a scape and what is a German Porcelin... at first I was going to ask "do you have to glue them back on?" but i realize you are talking about plants.

I am such a brown thumb that I cant even conceive having a garden.

Thanks for asking what a scape is/was....I didn't know either....and I have had a few gardens!

I haven't grown garlic though.

The scape is the flowering stalk of garlic.... German Porcelain is a kind of garlic.
