Dixie Chicks

Morning all, not going to back read just yet.

I went fishing for the very first time yesterday morning. One of my co-worker is always out hunting or fishing, so he took me along. In 4 hours we had ~10 fish in the boat, including our 2 allowed keepers. We went for Lake Trout and figure our second one is ~15/16 lbs!! Me and my small figure had a hard time keeping that fishing rod out of the water...:D

Good for you. Crazy that you've never been fishing Briard, ain't you Canadian? Lol

I grew up in Germany, plus it's not something my parents were ever interested in. They think meat comes from the store

. Those few times I have mentioned around them that I am considering eating some of my animals, they just say "murder"

Fishing the big water is a lot more exciting than pond fishing. Hope you had fun bc. I've got a couple kids that are finally old enough to salmon fishing in the Pulaski river this fall, looking forward to it, haven't been there since '95-'96?.

@draye

Here is what I found for the National Chicken Registry.....

http://www.amerpoultryassn.com/

Oooh there is one for Maryland....

http://mda.maryland.gov/animalhealth/forms2/poultry_registration.pdf

but almost all states have an NPIP registry

National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP)

If you want to sell poultry across state lines as in Chicks you need to be certified with the NPIP program for your state. Depending on your state requirements your whole flock will get tested for various diseases....

Which may or may not include

is this the type of info your looking for?

where do they think that food comes from in the store? They're not creating it in the back!

Google "Cold Lake", it's not a small lake. The locals actually have quite a bit of respect for it. I can't wait to be on the west coast again and try my hands at salmon fishing, they are so good! Smoked is my favourite version of salmon

"Well it was animal that didn't have a name, but lets not talk about that. How's your house planning coming along?" ...... Is usually how the conversation goes

That's not it. I finally found something on FB. I think it us something someone us trying to get going and make a bit of money off it. $5.00 will get you a paper with the chickens name and I suppose the parents if that chicken. It just says hen: ___________ rooster:_____________ You need a picture of the chicken that will be put on the paper and must meet the breed standard description. Not for me since I'm cross ring my Nsked Necks to everything I can find right now. I just make NN's. Thanks to all that answered.
