coming from the situation I am in now, don't get them. It isn't worth the heartache

Oh thank you a slap of reality. I have planned right knee replacement this coming Jan. the left ankle replacement is doing much better. That fall down the stairs was horrible and I had really dragged my heels(or ankles) in following Drs orders

I'm doing everything I can to follow orders on this one. When I pulled the tendons 2 years ago in my right ankle I didn't listen and it took a year to get the dang thing healed and to stop swelling. I'm not doing it with this one. The word fracture and broken has officially freaked me out

Same to you Beer Can... Enough people here have been laid off that I will not be able to find a job like this one. Too many other people out looking. DH and I did the math and at this point I'd be better off going on EI. Sad if you ask me... Up here, enough people have lost their jobs, that crime rates are already going up. Of course everyone is still in denial and saying "oh they are just waiting for.... (fill in the blank), " Seems like the companies are just trying to come up with excuses on why they are doing lay off after lay off.

As minihorse said, she's a Snowy Call... absolutely love these Calls... and OH is totally head over heels for them, lol... her and the lighter Silver are my faves... the Silver is so timidly sweet and the Snowy just knows exactly how adorable she is, lol...

That pic made my foot hurt! Yep, try to do what doc said... I dislocated my right knee and wasn't able to rest it properly either... it still tries to go out on me at odd times... :/

Everytime I hear the word fractured, I cringe. I hope your up and on the mend soon.

As for joints: I am waiting for the day when my knees give out. The knee pain started in highschool and doctors came to the conclusion that I didn't have enough muscle to support the knee. I was told to do specific exercises and I started to work out in the gym on top of that, everything was wonderful and I forgot about the knee problems. Life got in the way, I stopped working out and the knee began to hurt again after a year or so. SO I worked out again... It's a vicious cycle for me that I have done a few times. I haven't worked out in about a year again and I just about felt my knee pop in the shower last night just turning around.

Unless there is weights involved, most exercises don't touch what my knee needs.

Mini, i am glad you are following orders.


My friend on the slope... He knew it would be a matter of time... So has been sending out bunches of resumés for way over a month, maybe for three.

He is very well qualified, and very well paid... But his last day of work is tomorrow, and he has not gotten a SINGLE call back.

And the sad thing about that is that EI would probably pay him more then taking a job at walmart or mcdonalds...

I don't know about Alberta but max EI benefits in BC are 52 weeks at $500 something every week... I think...

I think my friend makes close to $150k Or did..... Nothing after Tuesday, his job had good health insurance, but no severance or retirement or whatever.

Oh.. My point is I am sure he was hoping for a job paying more than 500 a week.

He has applied to local jobs.. As well as all over the US and over seas...
