Dixie Chicks

So, I guess if I think I'm capable next week I'm just gonna start butchering these ducks out myself. I've done the chickens and done the quail, watched a ton of youtube and guess I'll try to start next week. I bought a "camping" table. It is hard plastic with a built in sink that hooks to a waterhose. I'm thinking it will work out nicely.

this is what it looks like

In better news, we found out today, I wasn't very optimistic, we didn't get chopped. Looks like NY threw the multi-billion$ dollar corporation a bone, or the tax payers did anyway, they were chopping us, now we are open, no closure, no layoffs, for five yrs anyway in the agreement. They are still closing one of the three slated for closure in NY, seven all together nationwide, feel really bad, sorry for those people, could have been us also.
I get to keep the chickens, I'm 100% sure I would have had to sell or eat them if I lost my job. Would have really sucked, just starting into this, guess I'm a crazy chicken dude, worrying about these two breeds more than my stupid job Lol!
this is great news! At least you know you're fairly safe for 5 years. I am happy to hear this.

I want to build something similar, permanent, pain in the butt processing without a table. I have a marble slab, and a single big stainless sink. I want to build a chicken plucker also, just haven't decided what one, drill style or tub. Many youtube vids on both, old washing machine looks like they work great but then there is storage. Makes plucking many a lot quicker and easier.
Just processed seven a couple weeks ago, skinned all but one. The manx rumpy looked too yummy and meaty to skin so I ended up dry plucking, wasn't bad but I wouldn't of wanted to have done all them that way Lol!

will do! got it for $35 at tsc. super deal.

Finally got to see pics of my fracture on my MRI. Even got a CD copy of it as a keepsake. Next time I'll run the sign over and replace it rather than get off to move it. lesson learned

Hard lesson... are they still saying surgery or no? Sweet deal on the table... think I'll need to look at our TSC...

Oh, and the ducks seemed to be happy with the move since they laid that nice group of eggs, but looks like the drakes forgot to pack their little blue pills... :gig
