DIY Thread - Let's see your "Inventions".

Good and bad news on the special chickies, but I'll let you read about that in their thread if you'd like to (thanks, Ben!), so they don't take over the DIY thread, too, hehe. Thanks everyone! I may make a post sometime about the basic construction of the Chickmobiles incase anyone may find it useful sometime. :)

Too awesome on the chick mobiles.. the inner lego geek in me is drooling :) (Wishing I had chickens to do that for when I was a kid, healthy ones even, free rides?! lol) and yes to the internet making way for so much now!

I've been using a plastic quart milk jug to give the "girls" oyster shell. It's very hard to fill--spilled all over the place. I wanted to make an oyster shell feeder out of a coffee can but couldn't figure out how to cut out the "distribution" holes. Then I remembered the little rocket stoves we made in Girl Scouts...we used a punch can opener! So I punched triangles in the bottom, bolted on a small pizza pan I found at Goodwill, and voila!

I like the fact you set it off center too. You can put it in a corner if you want without the chckens trying to go behind.. Hmmm.... a feeder would work this way as well.....
