Do ducks roost???

Muscovy are the only ones who do, and they roost on everything! fences, outdoor furniture!!

I'll have to see what the ones are on the log out back tomorrow. But the few I've seen land in trees over the years were mallards for sure. Three times. And it was awkward. Took them longer to get settled than it did for them to decide that sitting in trees was for the birds ! Now I know what muskovy ducks look like so I'll check in the am out back. Thanks for the pic.

My Mallard is the only one who even bothers getting up on the rocks we have around the yard, but those are a little less than a foot off the ground. I haven't seen her go any higher.

To my knowledge, most people have ducks who don't roost, but may jump up on a taller area for a bit.

Yes, this i have calls and buff ducks too.. they will sit up a touch on some piled boards or a rock but aren't truly roosting, my scovies are often found on the chain link fence, the roofs... the garbage bin the other day(huge wood box about 3-4ft high)

I do not know what kind of ducks I have but they have been roosting on the boards with the chickens .. weird, did not know this
