Do ducks sleep like chickens?

I agree!!!

I'm sorry, I'm on the other side of this fence... you need to keep your ducks home, for their safety and your neighbor's wishes. I love my ducks, but I don't assume that they are welcome everywhere! She may be rude, but she does have the right to ask you to keep your ducks home.

Don't get me wrong, I understand her frustration and I've been trying my best to contain them but I think she's been very rude about it.

hmmm... I don't have muscovies, so maybe they're different, but my ducks don't seem to actually sleep much - ok they nap from time to time, but there's no sneaking up on them and they're up as much at night as they are during the day.

IMO waterfowl have much better night vision than chickens.

So what would your neighbor do if wild ducks were in her pond?

The lady behind me has a pond and wild ducks and geese are in there all the time.

Maybe she's upset just because they're your ducks.

She said she chases ALL ducks and geese and herons out of her pond. Whatever her reason for not wanting them on her property, it's my responsibility to keep them on mine. I'm so stressed, I don't know how to capture them. They used to practically eat out of my hand but since all of this they don't even come when I call them. The two times I was able the herd them into the pen but now they won't even come close enough to me (or the house). They used to nap on the back porch but I haven't seen them do that since I locked them up and they escaped. At this point I just don't know how to get them.

You have them spooked now.
Try luring them back with treats.
It's better to lead them than herd them.

Why would you have a pond and not want the associated wildlife?
She should fill it in.

DH had to go shoot the ducks today. We just finished cleaning them and put them in the freezer.
