do I have toms or hens?

Great,, turkeys are alot of fun.. We love to have them to...

Breeding season is the best part..watching them breeding is a pretty cool thing to see..the toms are always so gentle,,they do little side steps around the hens strutting in full bloom and when they go to mount the hens, they gently step back and forth on her with one foot and after a while of doing this the act finally takes place, with our wilds it can takes 5 Min's or even longer before mounting the hens, it really depends on the hen if she is ready or not..... Its is an awesome sight to see..Such large gentle majestic birds they are..

Your family will enjoy them..

Picture 1 is a hen, small snood, little or no carnuckles, fine feathers on back of the
head and neck.

Picture 2: both males, Although it looks small it's retracted it has a larger base compared to the tip. no of little fine feather on the back of the neck and head, carnuckles are prominate. Looks like the do change from blueish to red.

Picture 3: Male Although it looks small it's retracted it has a larger base compared to the tip. no of little fine feather on the back of the neck and head, carnuckles are prominate. Looks like the do change from blueish to red.

The toms will start gobbling once the get a customed to there new home. The will gobble when the see some thing new or some new sounds. If you have a cell phone try playing the ring tones on the phone this may start toms gobbleing.
