Why are they so long? They shouldn’t be that long if the bird has access to dirt and stuff to file nails down.My chicken's nails are getting pretty long. Do you think I need to clip them, or will the ends just break off eventually? If so, what clipper should I use?
My hens have access to the same space with plenty of dirts and rocks and their nails get clipped on the same day but I've found my leghorns' nails grow faster than my BOs or EE even though my leghorns are more active.
