They must like their pedicure!!You clip them. It's from them being too long and having to turn to be flat footed. Unfortunately all my birds need to have their nails clipped. Even the ones that can roam around.

They are short and well trimmed so I don't really know how to help with thatIf they are starting to twist, there is a good chance they are too long and need to be clipped.
No, they frighin hate it. We lost one last year catching them so we don't like doing it eitherThey must like their pedicure!!
This is a great idea!!!If they are long enough to cause the toes to twist then yeah they are too long. What I use is one of those dog claw trimmers with a sanding disk.

I'm not promoting any brand, not even sure the one I have as I got it from my mother when her dog died. IMHO this is more natural way to trim and doesn't splinter or crack animal nails like clippers can do. YMMV.
I use one of those on the rooster I got from my cousin. They have let that poor bird go way too far. Grab him by the feet, hold him upside down, and go to town. Easiest to do at night. Have even used it to trim spurs before. Aint seen any chicken that likes it done by any method.
Would you be able to post a picture of the twisted nail? They are short and well trimmed so I don't really know how to help with that
Those are totally normal and don’t need any trimming.View attachment 2369269You asked for pictures, so here they are! Tell me what you think.
