Yes this is old I know. But, since the thread has resurfaced...
Laying an egg is analogous to live birth because of the size of the "object" relative to the normal size of the orifice. You can say the passing of an unfertilized egg is similar to menstruation, aside from the size thing. A fertilized egg is like live birth, if life begins at conception, although others may argue it is more like a miscarriage though that would be inaccurate since it's not meant to be carried to term and is the natural design/process.What it boils down to is a lot of semantics and it doesn't properly correspond to any one process, but given that the original topic was about the pain or discomfort level, the proper analogy doesn't really matter.
Regarding the Bible thing, omission of something doesn't mean it doesn't exist or happen. It's been quite a while since I've read the Bible, but I don't recall it mentioning photosynthesis or gravity, maybe not even bowel movements, dinosaurs, black holes, heroin, SIDS, the Aurora borealis, cartwheels, cats retching up hairballs... Should I go on?

I was going to say the same thing. I have read it and studied it. During the crucifiction, going from memory, where does it say or expand on Jesus's misery. It explains the process, what happened, and what He said. God gave us common sense. So we know when He screamed from nails being hammered into His wrists, it hurts! The chicken on the video is not screaming, but she said a little something. We are to use common sense to figure out when an object as large as an egg passes through that small orifice, it has to at least be uncomfortable.
The Bible also doesn't say anything about PMS, severe menstrual pain etc. It stayed on topic.
People who wish to question, such as " science is better, why learn from the Bible, " IMO, are threatened and trying to disprove that which they don't believe. Some people believe sign, the stars, Crystals, Buddha. We all have the right, Aye? At least for now.
For me the Lord is present and expressed through nature and amazing creations like chickens and eggs. I dont believe the Lord will be happy about Battery Cages. As a Christian, I have a problem with people who say ill treatment of animals is OK because the Bible says the animals are to be ruled over by us. Doesn't say "Don't be cruel. Don't suck up and destroy every piece of habitat." Another instance where we are blessed with common sense.
