Oh I can understand that, I'm rather pro nature myself. Sadly there are times when animals and humans interract that end badly, but I don't think too many people are out there to go all Elmer Fudd* on the wildlife either. When animals begin to not be wary of people, that's when problems arise, you want wildlife to avoid human contact, it's safer for all concerned.

*I totally violated a trademark there, and will most likely be sued.

Thats why I started a thread about where did all the hunters and trappers go? Wildlife has gotten too used to humans in their environment and are loosing their wariness.

I know its safer for the animal and humans for the animal to be afraid of us, but wouldn't it be nice, if we didn't bother them and they didnt bother us? lol ...I know i know....thats a dream that im positive will never come true

We are in Michigan too. We do not relocate animals. AC is usless in my county. If you call them about stray dogs they will not pick it up unless you can hold it in your yard for them. I do not know about you but I am not going to go up to a strange, growling dog and try to chain it up. I also do not set traps out in the field or woods for animals. If they aren't in my yard causing a problem they will be left alone. The good thing is we can all decide for ourselves how we want to deal with the problem animals in our area. Just hopefully everyone takes the laws in their own area into consideration.

I read that thread, I think it's because real fur is seen so negativly in the world of fashion (I don't wear it myself, but I'm in SoCal, not a real need to dress up al la Cruiella de Ville here). That being said, I DID toss out hubby #2's lucky rabbit's foot, women just don't appericiate gifts from taxidermists!

It would be lovely. I'd happily watch little racoon babies fish in the streams for tadpoles, but untill the animals agree to my co-existance nirvana plan, I still need to protect my home if they get dangerious.

Yes I saw that post. Just terrible. The same AC in our area said if it is a problem animal we can shoot it since we are out in the country, but if we want them to come get it ,hold it in a pen or on a chain. We used to have the drop off problem here too. It has gotten better in recent years.
