Do the girls need food at night ??

I used to keep both food and water in the coop until the rats started gnawing their way in. Now, only in extreme weather do I keep food and water in there. And I do get up at 6:00 to let them out. If I don't, they scream and complain until I do!

if i had a larger hutch, i would put a small dish of food or water in for them. Im going to try it tonight & see if its gone in the morning. If so, ill supply them at night, if not - then ill take it from there. Thanks !

They are not going to eat and drink at night. But they do wake up hungry and thirsty, at the crack of dawn. If you're not an early riser....

But i know for fact i will not be out later than 9 even on a bad day & theyve been going in at about 7 or so. They come out looking for food but not starving. I just dont want to start any bad habits !
