Do these Orp hens look close to laying? *UPDATED SHE LAID AN EGG!!!!*

Your Nugget is beautiful!! That was the name of my childhood dog. tee hee. My other girls look more like your Nugget. They will all be 20 weeks on Monday. Ours are all hatchery birds because we couldn't find any breeders around us. I think our roo is going to be big. He is tall already and can drink out of the automatic horse waterers while still standing on the ground! lol. Big boy!

SHE DID IT!!!! She laid an egg today!!! Scuttlebutt laid a beautiful little egg in the nest she set up yesterday right in the nesting box! Yay!!! Here are the pictures. My kids are just as excited as I am. lol. Here is my 8 year old daughter, Téa, holding it.

And my 3 1/2 year old son, Aidan.

And the egg compared to a store bought large egg so a tiny one this time but so perfect. Feels heavy too so hopefully not a fart egg. lol

Thank you Sequin. Yup, they were excited. You would have thought it was a live chick the way they were fighting over who got to hold it and who held it longer etc. lol. Hubby got plowed over when he got home from work because they both wanted to tell him first. tee hee. Very fun!!

Yahoo for Youuuu!!

I only have one hen laying right now and I can't wait to go check the barn when I get home each day from work. Finding the eggs is an addiction!

Very seriously too cute kids! Loveed their smiles.

So how many weeks old was the hen when she FINALLY laid. Mine are about ready for the old folks farm, and they still have not started laying.

Thanks folks. joebryant, thanks for the compliments on my kiddles. I have to agree.

. I will have to blow out the egg and keep the shell since it is named.

I can't wait to find more! lol. Scuttlebutt is 19 1/2 weeks old. Young for a Buff Orpington I think? I have another buff who looks like she won't be long now. Yippee!! 4 big time egg eaters in this house so we gotta get them coming! tee hee. First we'll use up the store bought though. Won't want to eat them after the fresh I am sure!
